Amendment 69, the Colorado Care Initiative, will be on the ballot in this November’s election.  This initiative creates a new political subdivision of the State of Colorado that will take over all private insurance, employer-based coverage, workers comp, and Medicaid, to become a single payer healthcare plan.

This plan would be paid for with a new 10% payroll tax, which will raise $25 Billion in taxes a year, and double the size of the state government. All Colorado residents will be covered, and all of them will pay the 10% tax even if they have other coverage like Medicare or Tricare.  Employer-based coverage would go away, to be replaced with new coverage under Colorado Care, although we won’t know exactly what level of coverage for months or even years after the election.

Due to the large tax increase and the potential impact on jobs, most employers are opposed to Amendment 69, including the unanimous decision to oppose the amendment by the 59-member Board of Directors of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.  However, your employees may view Colorado Care as an appealing alternative to high deductibles and increasing premiums.

This webinar will educate HR executives and C-Suite leaders in more depth on the pros and cons of Amendment 69, with a heavy focus on how to message this topic to your employees so they understand the full implications of the Colorado Care Initiative, while maintaining their trust in you as an unbiased source of information.

However, while repeal is simple, replacement is incredibly complex.

Join us for an informative and non-partisan discussion of what we know so far, what we don't know, and what are likely to be the next steps.
